Sugam Pokhrel was recently seen in the environs of the Basantapur Durbar Square wrapping up the initial shooting for his new video for the song Mero Jiwan Yesto Hos, Harek Diin Farak Hos from his latest record. Accompanying the singer was his brother Sunil Pokhrel, of Aarohan Gurukul fame, who stars in the video, as well as Nikesh Khadka, who is directing it.The song is among those included in Pokhrel’s much-awaited new album Sugam Sangeet.
Director Khadka, on the other hand, describes the experience as “rewarding”, and says he was initially a little bit star-struck by Sunil Pokhrel’s presence, given his substantial reputation both in the realms of film as well as theatre. Ultimately, it was great working with the veteran actor and director, and a wonderful learning process. “He was the only person who we saw would fit the role perfectly, and he’s done an amazing job.”
Produced under Stereo Records, the video is set to be completed within the next couple of days.
The singer, known for past hits such as Mero Euta Saathi Chha, Feri Tyo Diin, Samhalincha Kahile Mann, and many others, says he has a particular affinity for this song because it “represents a break” from the kind of love songs he’s been doing before and is more soulful, with lyrics that talk about real-life obstacles. What makes it even more special is the fact that it is his brother’s first time doing a music video.
